Immerse Yourself in the Sounds of Asheville’s Bluegrass Festival

For a lot of us, music is in our soul. It speaks to us in some way that nothing else can. We spend our days listening to music of varying kinds from the radio to our phones. Many of us listen to it while we work, a way to keep centered in the craziness of our day to day life. We at Orchard Inn love music as well as the local music festivals that happen here. One in particular that we love is the Asheville Bluegrass Festival. Being in the mountains, there is a certain history to our area and bluegrass seems to capture it perfectly. Let’s have a look at the Asheville Bluegrass Festival and see what amazing treats they will have for us this year!

The Asheville Bluegrass Festival will be February 19-21st and will be held at the Crowne Plaza Resort which is located close to downtown Asheville and conveniently located off of the highway. When you do go to the Crowne Plaza Resort for the Asheville Bluegrass Festival, you will be amazed at what they have scheduled. One thing is that there will be music playing all the time. The entire hotel is rented out for the Asheville Bluegrass Festival and so there will be jamming and picking the entire time.

They will have two places for you to hear music, the Main Stage, and the Showcase Stage. Be sure to have a look at their schedule so you can have an idea of who is playing when. They will have different bands playing on the hour for you to enjoy. Some examples of the bands that they have lined up this year are, Appalachian Fire, Sideline, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver and Rhonda Vincent & The Rage. On Saturday, the music continues with another set of musicians. Some that will be featured then are, Seldom Scene, Flatt Lonesome, and Carolina Blue. At this time, they have not set the line-up for the Showcase Stage but be sure to check back to see who they have picked. If you plan on bringing some little Bluegrass lovers, have a look at their Kids Academy which is set for kids aged 6-16. It will be hosted by Appalachian Fire and free. The Kids Academy will perform as well.

For tickets to the Asheville Bluegrass Festival, they have 2 options available. You can choose between a 2-day reserved seat ticket or a 2-day general admission ticket. If you are only planning on going 1 day then they also have all access passes available for the Friday and Saturday. You can purchase your tickets online and they will be waiting for you when you arrive at the Asheville Bluegrass Festival.

If you can’t get enough of the Asheville Bluegrass Festival and want to hear more, be sure to have a look at the other individual concerts that will be available in 2016 as well.
