Critical GPS Warning for Guests
Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Waze incorrectly believe US-176 is entirely closed to our entrance. This is because of a state DOT sign at Ozone Drive stating “Road Closed Ahead in 3 Miles.”
The GPS Trap:
If you follow GPS, it will reroute you via Thompson Road, tell you that you’ve arrived in the middle of an intersection 1 mile away, and route you directly onto a private residential driveway (Cabbage Patch Road). Please do not turn into our neighbor’s private lawn.
The road is 100% open directly to Orchard Inn Lane. Please use our verified safe route below.
Route A: Recommended Direct Access (100% Open)
- Starting at the main intersection of Saluda Center
(Main St. / Ozone Dr. / US-176). - Drive SOUTH on US-176.
- Ignore the orange DOT sign saying “Road Closed Ahead in 3 Miles”. The road to the Inn is completely open!
- After 1.0 mile, bear RIGHT onto Orchard Inn Lane.
- Follow the lane up to the peak of the mountain.
Route B: GPS Rescue / Recovery
- If you are stuck at the stop sign where Thompson Road meets US-176:
- DO NOT turn onto Cabbage Patch Road directly across the street (Private Residential Driveway).
- Turn RIGHT onto US-176 North (heading up the hill).
- Drive 1.0 mile northbound to Orchard Inn Lane.
- Turn LEFT onto Orchard Inn Lane and drive to the peak of the mountain.
