Guest speaker Raymond “Bo” Brown, President of the Carolina Railroad Heritage Association, will talk about the Brotherhood of the Railroad Clerks and Saluda Railroad history. Proceeds go to repairing Hurricane Helene damage to the structural foundation of the Saluda Depot Museum.

AmiciMusic presents “JAZZICAL 3” at the Orchard Inn & Spa on Sunday, October 18 at 6:00

AmiciMusic, the award-winning chamber music organization based in Asheville, will be back in Saluda at the Orchard Inn & Spa on Sunday, October 18 at 6:00 with an exciting program entitled “JAZZICAL 3,” which will showcase music that seamlessly blends the Jazz and Classical idioms. Pianist/Artistic Director Daniel Weiser will be joined by classical guitarist Andy Jurik, bassist Daniel Iannucci, and drummer Justin Watt. The Orchard Inn will host the concert in their wonderful great room with lots of comfortable seats and great views. Appetizers and desserts will be served and there will be a cash bar as well. The featured work will be Claude Bolling’s Concerto for Classical Guitar and Jazz Piano Trio. Bolling was a true Crossover master who rose to fame in the 1970’s and 1980’s with his fantastic albums for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio (with Jean-Pierre Rampal), Violin and Jazz Piano Trio (with Pinchas Zuckerman), and Cello and Jazz Piano Trio (with Yo-Yo Ma). The Guitar Concerto was recorded first with Alexander Lagoya in 1976, but is not as well known. It is a fabulous multi-movement work with fantastic contrasts in rhythm and melody as it alternates between the classical and jazz idioms. Dr. Weiser will also play some solo selections from another Bolling album that was a tribute to his favorite jazz pianists. Jurik has also arranged some work by Astor Piazzolla and others for the group.

The holiday season is such a special time of year. Our Dickens’ Dinners are the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and continue to grow in popularity. Many guests reserve a year in advance. We have therefore added Sunday nights to our 2026 calendar. Set aside one of the following dates for a magical holiday evening at our 12-acre mountaintop retreat:

Thursday’s – 12/3, 12/10, 12/17
Friday’s – 12/4, 12/11, 12/18
Saturday’s – 12/5, 12/12, 12/19
Sunday’s – 12/6, 12/13, 12/20

Enjoy the chef’s memorable four-course dinner with readings from Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”. Dinner will begin promptly at 6:30 and will end in candlelight by the roaring fire with a Smoking Bishop. Since seating is limited in our physically distanced dining room, make your reservations early to be sure you can attend!

What’s the Cost?
For the evening, it’s $110 per person, plus tax and gratuity. After dinner, treat yourself to an overnight in one of the eight upstairs rooms of the Inn. Special price for rooms upstairs in the Inn when you attend a Dickens’ Dinner – $275 for Rooms 3, 4, 7 and 8 and $295 for Rooms 1, 2, 9 and 10.

Our sensational, seven-course dinner begins with hors d’oeuvres at 7 pm and sit-down dinner at 8, ending with a complimentary glass of French Champagne while watching the ball drop at midnight. We also offer a NYE package which includes brunch on New Year’s Day, dinner for 2 on December 31st at our Black Tie Optional Gala and dinner for 2 on December 30th for only $599 plus the cost of whichever accommodation you choose.
