Not sure where to start? Let’s look at trails first. There are over 75 trails near and around us for you to discover. Many of these have amazing features like panoramic views, waterfalls, and much more. In the summers, rivers become the perfect place to cool off after a hike. Be sure to have a look at these nearby trails that would be perfect for you. If you are looking for one place to see so much, we recommend Pisgah National Forest. It has a little bit of everything for everyone. You can bring your bikes and go biking or hiking, fishing, scenic driving, nature viewing and so much more. Once you see some pictures of the area you will see why Pisgah is at the top of many travelers’ lists when it comes to sightseeing in North Carolina.
Historical Sightseeing in North Carolina
If you know anything about this area, you know that we are steeped in history. There are many ways to enjoy our local history and one of the top ways is to visit it. Here in Western North Carolina, nothing is more historically famous than the Biltmore. Take a tour back through time and see what life was like for the Vanderbilt’s. See how their family is still using their land to give back to the community. When you are there plan on spending a few hours and be sure to sign up for an in-depth tour! If you are looking for something else, there are other historical sites to choose from. To name a few would be the Carl Sandburg Home as well as the Vance birthplace. Each has their own amazing history behind them.
Sightseeing in North Carolina via Scenic Drives
For some of us, it doesn’t get any better than getting in the car and taking a drive. Here in North Carolina, we are known for some of the best drives around. The one we are most famous for is the Blue Ridge Parkway but as you can see by this list that there are so many to choose from! While fall is one of the peak times for a drive, our area is stunning in any season and these drives are fun and very interesting.
As you can see, there are so many ways to enjoy sightseeing in North Carolina. When you do come to our area, one of the first things to remember is to be centrally located.
