4 of the Best Pet-Friendly Western NC Activities

1. Take Your Pup to a Dog-Friendly Restaurant

There are tons of dog-friendly restaurants in Western North Carolina! Generally, if there is outdoor seating, the restaurant allows pets. Always make sure before you bring your pet, though! If you’re looking for a place to eat in Saluda, we recommend The Purple Onion. They have a great patio your pet will love, and the food is exceptional. If you’re bringing your pet into Asheville, there are more than 100 dog-friendly restaurants and breweries in the city.

2. Walk the Grounds at Biltmore Estate

While you can’t bring your pet into any of the buildings at the Biltmore Estate, there are 8,000 acres waiting to be explored! As long as your pet is leashed at all times, you can take them on the many trails that loop around this gorgeous property. See stunning ponds, gorgeous foliage, and more as you walk through the grounds.

3. Go on the Asheville Urban Trail

If you love art and history, you’ll love walking the Asheville Urban Trail with your pet! This trail can best be described as a walking tour through the city’s history. Follow the 30 sculptures that are scattered throughout the city to learn all about the unique history of the area while enjoying beautiful art.

4. Make Sure You Go to the Dog Welcome Center!

If you’re visiting Asheville with your pup, make sure you make a stop at the Dog Welcome Center. Located inside The Dog Door Behavior Center and Store, you’ll find a designated potty area, water fountains, a doggy goody bag, doggie ice cream, and more!
