There’s something special about the 4th of July. Not only are we celebrating our nation’s independence, it also evokes fond memories of the past. For many, there is a sense of nostalgia that accompanies this celebrated day. Burgers and hotdogs with bright yellow mustard, hot summer air, and cold drinks seem to be the same Independence Day festivities that many of us shared. This year, make it special by spending your 4th of July in Western NC.
How to Spend Your Fourth of July in Western NC
The Hendersonville Celebration
The celebration in Hendersonville is the closest to Orchard Inn! Gather on the main strip to watch their annual Independence Day Parade at 11:00 a.m. A free concert usually follows, and we recommend sticking around to grab lunch somewhere in town. There are many great restaurants here! At night, they usually have a fireworks celebration.
Stay in Town for Coon Dog Day
Coon Dog Day usually follows right after the 4th of July. This festival is one of the biggest events in Saluda, and it takes place just five minutes away from Orchard Inn. Thousands of people flock to the area for the music, delicious food, a parade, a dog show, and a 5K race.
