1. Downtown After 5
While there are many Asheville music festivals that span across the spring and summer, none is more beloved than Downtown After 5. This is a concert series that is free and takes place the third Friday of the months of May-September. This concert series is held at North Lexington Avenue from 5 pm to 9 pm. Besides having music, there are also food trucks as well as beer vendors. You will have to spend $2 to get a wristband for beer but all of the money goes back into the community and to places like Asheville GreenWorks, Asheville Music School, CarePartners, Homeward Bound and the YMI Cultural Center.
2. Asheville Electro-Music Festival
There are many Asheville music festivals, and they are all unique! We in Asheville, as well as everyone else, have varied musical tastes so quite naturally there would be lots of different types of music festivals. The Asheville Electro-Music Festival will be held in May in Black Mountain, NC. This particular music festival will be not only amazing to hear but to see as well. The musicians will bring their brand of cool electronic and experimental music and the local artists will provide live video art.
3. Biltmore Concert Series
Every summer, the Biltmore comes alive in the evening with their amazing concert series. During the day, explore everything the Biltmore has to offer, their tours, exhibits, and of course the grounds. Then have a delightful and relaxing dinner at one of the restaurants on the estate. Afterward, gather with everyone outside to enjoy one of the many artists that will be performing this summer.
4. Brevard Music Center’s Summer Festival
Last, and certainly not least, on our list of Asheville music festivals is the summer festival at Brevard Music Center. They have been around for over 80 years, delighting locals and travelers alike with their amazing concerts. Every summer has something special in store, so check out what they have going on!
