They are not canceling the event altogether, but they are unable to hold a Street Fair, the associated Entertainment, Kiddie Carnival, and the King Apple Parade. Details for the NC Apple Festival
The NC Apple Festival is an annual Labor Day tradition that has been taking place for over 60 years. Each year, the festival takes place on Main Street in downtown Hendersonville. It runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday. On Sunday, the festival goes from 10 a.m. through the end of the King Apple Parade. Plenty of parking is available, and there are many free and paid lots around town that cater to festival-goers. Pets are not allowed at the festival.
What You Can Expect at the Festival
The Street Fair is loads of fun and not to be missed. You’ll find over 200 vendors set up along Main Street, offering everything from delicious food to handmade arts and crafts.
If you plan to attend with kids, you may be interested in checking out all of the children’s activities. Your little ones will have a blast jumping on the inflatables and checking out the amusement rides set up just for them. Be sure to check out both Family Fun Zones at the Wells Fargo Bank and the Visitor’s Center.
The Days of the Festival
Each day of the Apple Festival offers new events and activities to look forward to.
Friday
Friday kicks off the festival with the Historic Courthouse’s opening ceremonies, followed by food and live entertainment.
Tip: Make sure you grab a fried apple pie! They are an absolute must!
Saturday & Sunday
Saturday’s festivities begin with the Street Fair and end with live music and various special events. Sunday continues the fun of the Street Fair, the Apple Orchard Bike tour, the Gem & Mineral Spectacular, and so much more!
Labor Day/Monday
Labor Day is the last day for the Hendersonville Apple Festival and concludes this amazing weekend with a bang. Make sure you get a great spot for the King Apple Parade on Main Street. It starts at 2:30 p.m. rain or shine and includes fantastic floats, bands, antique cars, and much more.
