AmiciMusic returns to the Orchard Inn in Saluda for another fantastic vocal program. “SONGS of LOVE” features soprano Simone Vigilante and pianist/Artistic Director Daniel Weiser performing songs about love from the diverse worlds of opera, operetta, musical theater, and movies. Composers include Puccini, Herbert, Loesser, Arlen, Kern, Rodgers, and more as Vigilante showcases her wide range and diversity of styles. Dr. Weiser always has some fun anecdotes to share about the composers before each set. This will also be a fundraiser for the Saluda Depot, which seeks to preserve and restore the historic train Depot in Saluda.
Tickets are only $50 per person, which includes fabulous hors d’oeuvres. Beverage tickets for alcoholic drinks will be available at the door. Please note that seating will be limited and reservations are required.

AmiciMusic is a non-profit chamber music organization, based in Asheville, NC and Baltimore, MD, dedicated to performing chamber music in intimate venues and non-traditional spaces. AmiciMusic, meaning “music among friends,” seeks to break down barriers between performers and audience through brief discussions of each composer on their programs. AmiciMusic also strives to have a relaxed and informal atmosphere at their concerts to highlight the spirit of community and camaraderie.
Ms. Vigilante has sung around the world and currently makes Asheville her home, where she is a founding member of Opera Creations. She has been praised as a “beautiful dramatic soprano capable of some awesome fireworks” and has appeared in recitals and competitions, with opera companies and orchestras, throughout the United States, France, Spain, Austria and Italy.
Dr. Weiser has also performed around the world, including a tour as the U.S. Artistic Ambassador of Music in 1996 that took him on an eleven country tour of the Middle East and Southeast Asia. He has a Doctorate in Piano/Chamber Music from the Peabody Conservatory, where he won the Richard Franko Goldman prize for outstanding contribution to musical and educational life. Dr. Weiser founded AmiciMusic in 2011 in order to bring intimate chamber music to the Western North Carolina region and has since presented over 250 concerts in the area.
