Flat Rock Playhouse Schedule (Mainstage)
Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5
Starting on July 28th through August 20th, the Flat Rock Playhouse will host Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5. This play is based on the movie released in 1980. The story features 3 female secretaries who have grown tired of their bosses and devise a plan to overthrow them. This play will show you a humorous side of what office life was many years ago.
Diary of Anne Frank
The Diary of Anne Frank will run from September 8th-25th. The book by the young Jewish girl hiding during the Holocaust has become world-renowned. Her family lived in an Amsterdam attic for 2 years during the height of WWII. Come and see Anne’s enduring hope for mankind and how two families struggled to live during this unimaginable time.
Beehive: The 60’s Musical
If you love the music of the 60’s, then you will have to go to the Flat Rock Playhouse for Beehive: The 60’s Musical. This amazing musical celebrates some of the best female vocalists of this prime decade including Aretha Franklin, Leslie Gore, and so much more. This performance will make you want to get up and dance.
A Christmas Carol
A Christmas Carol will end the season at Flat Rock Playhouse.This beloved Charles Dickens tale is the perfect way to begin the holiday season. The play will run from November 17th to December 17th.
During that time, we will also be hosting our own annual Dicken’s Dinner. Enjoy a 5-course meal complete with readings from the book at Orchard Inn!

The Importance of Being Earnest
Oscar Wilde’s most celebrated play is coming to Flat Rock Playhouse! The Importance of Being Earnest is a trivial comedy about two friends in Victorian England. When they use the same pseudonym for their illicit activities, you’ll be there to watch the hilarity that ensues. The show will be performed July 7th through the 24th.
Vintage Hitchcock, A Live Radio Play
If you love spooks and thrills, you won’t want to miss when the Master of Suspense visits the theater October 20th through November 6th. Vintage Hitchcock is a 1940’s style radio play that will bring three terrifying tales to life with commercials and live sound effects.
A Thousand Cranes
November 11th to 20th, experience A Thousand Cranes, the powerful true story of a Hiroshima bomb survivor. After being diagnosed with radiation sickness at age 12, Sadako Sasaki embraces her optimism by folding paper cranes. She believes if she can make 1,000 of them, the gods will grant her a wish and make her well again.
