2014 Saluda Arts Festival

Saluda Arts FestivalSpring is right around the corner, so right now is a great time to begin planning how you will be spending your time out in the great weather. The first step would be to book a reservation at the Orchard Inn, just minutes away from Asheville, NC. The next step would be to plan your fun-filled weekend around the 11th Annual Saluda Arts Festival on May 17, 2014. Live music and delicious food are just two of the many reasons you should start planning your visit to 2014 Saluda Arts Festival.

Live Music
Throughout the day, you will be able to stop by the McCreery Park Pavilion and enjoy music spanning genres such as folk, blues, contemporary, and Americana. If you’re musically inclined and want to get in on the action, you can submit an application for your chance to showcase your skills on stage.

Are you interested in looking at some local oil or acrylic paintings? Perhaps, you are seeking out some carefully crafted pottery or sculptures. Whichever art medium is your favorite to enjoy, chances are you will find it at the festival. Booths will be set up all along Historic Main Street in downtown Saluda.

Exquisite local food is certainly not lacking in town, and the tastes will be on display at the Saluda Arts Festival. Restaurants such as Jose’s Wood Fired Pizza and the Saluda Grade Café are two great options. The fine dining doesn’t end with those two, though, as there are many more establishments you can try to satisfy your taste buds.

Dancer’s Extension Spring Concert
The Saluda Arts Festival isn’t reserved for just the long-time veterans, as the talented children of the area will be on display, as well. One place you can check out the future generation is at the Saluda Elementary School auditorium at 11 a.m. There you will find dozens of students performing dance numbers in ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance. What’s the best part? Admission is free!

More Fun for the Kids
Maybe your child won’t be performing at the school, but there is still plenty for him or her to do at the festival. At the Children’s Art Tent, your child can show off their creative side and even partake in some fun face painting.

Don’t worry about not finding a spot since parking options abound. Be sure to check out the festival website in order to see which location best fits your needs.

Make a weekend out of your trip to the Saluda Arts Festival by spending some time in Asheville, NC, as well. Plan on exploring Asheville on Friday, located just north of Saluda, and then make the trip down to the Orchard Inn for the night. You will have the choice of 14 different accommodations when you make the Orchard Inn your selection. When you wake up Saturday morning, you’ll get to enjoy a gourmet breakfast to energize yourself before walking around the festival.
